This Flip UltraHD camcorder is even far more impressive than the last one. As usual with Flips, it is the ideal thing for any family hoping to videotape the kids, friends, events, etc. First of all, it is entirely idiot proof: when you get the box, there is undoubtedly no assembly required. Your first guess about which buttons are the power switch, record button, and USB connector release will probably be correct; very good intuitive design. The device looks and feels very good (as other reviewers have mentioned) and simply fits within your hand comfortably for extended periods of time (unlike my blackberry). It is a bit larger than the last one, which helps it fit snugly inside the hand, even though it takes a modest bit far more space within your pocket. It turns on and off right away (unlike my property pc or cell phone) so you do not must wait extended to start recording that precious, fleeting moment.

The screen is large as well as the HD video is amazing on big-screen playback. The new 60 frames per second is noticeably better, and virtually as smooth as you will ever need. (Frames transform twice as fast as than the eye can see, so it looks super-smooth on the human eye — I did a bit of research! ) Image top quality continues being excellent, and not too shaky/bouncy. The new image stabilization looks to remove some vibrations (like once videotaping a infant laughing in a driving car) but I didn’t notice a major difference indoors as it can not remove the effects on the larger hand tilting movements (caused by my running around stepping on toys even though right after the infant around). The USB connector is often a bit different, over a side instead of the top, which makes it easier to connect to a laptop. Otherwise it is the same: convenient, effortless to connect, and you do not must go running to find any special USB connector cable (like my old virtual camera). The audio is still good, picking up faint background sounds that I hadn’t even seen at the time of recording and picking up simultaneous music and voices with very good quality. The 2-hour battery life is over I ever use, so it is great. There is a new battery pack (very effortless to install if you have ever had a cell phone), but it does not look to transform anything for far better or worse.

The Flip Video application continues to set the standard. It is ridiculously effortless to setup, automatically starts once I plug inside the camcorder, and makes it entirely obvious how to download the videos, play back, freeze frames to generate photos, and share. And it is fast– not significantly waiting for videos to load up (like other video players). It is all in an easy-to-use, well-organized (by video date) layout quite similar on the iPod control panel. I wish all application was this effortless to use.

I very recommend this device– it is probably the most impressive Flip yet, and well worth the investment.
